The Chenango Forks Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization that truly enjoys serving the community we live in. We currently have over 20 members plus life and auxiliary members. Our company covers 46 square miles and a population of 2,500 in mostly single family homes and agricultural areas in a rural section of Broome and Chenango Counties. And because of our location, our district is unique when compared to others because we serve portions of four different towns within two counties. We provide fire and EMS protection to portions of the towns of Barker, Chenango, and Fenton in Broome County and the Town of Greene in Chenango County.

We currently have a 4 bay station located on Route 12 directly in the hamlet of Chenango Forks. The fire station was built in 1971 as a 3 bay and a fourth bay was added later as our needs changed. Besides the truck bay, our building has a full kitchen and hall that can be used for many activities such as trainings and dinners. There is also a fireman’s room, which is used for company meetings, report writing, as well as a place for our members to relax.
